Oh by the way, just to rub it in. I got my first electric bill in the new apartment. Keep in mind it has stayed pretty hot over the last month. I have the small fridge, a few lights, toaster oven, charging the iPad, and running the ac, 76 at night, 80 during the day. Total electric…$30.
As what passes for winter for down here moves in, the ac won’t be run near as much meaning that will probably be as near as high an energy bill I will have until spring.
Minimalism does has it’s perks.

    i’m a fresh air lover. FINALLY our triple digit summer is over. only in the 90’s three days this week.
    am sitting here writing this will all windows open. it drops to 50 at night. heaven.
    now if i could just figure out how to get some ocean to this prairie….

  2. Hopefully they read the meter correctly and you don’t get a triple bill next month. I don’t think I have ever had an electric bill that small, even before I had A/C back in the mid 70’s.
