Another quiet week in the books. The Verizon bill came early in the week but the rest was mostly food and entry to the Hemingway Home. Next week will probably see the rent due and not much else. The quest for another bicycle continues…actually I’m just putting it off until I absolutely have to replace the old one.

Some good news, or bad, depending on your point of view. A possible employment opportunity has come up, I actually got a call back and a brief interview last week. It’s a simple job, a minor bit of retail, more service oriented than sales. Schedule looks intriguing as I would have a half week on, half off, allowing me time to do other things. A few benefits after the usual probationary period. It’s not a done deal yet, still need the mandatory drug screen, background check, etc. but it looks like it might happen. I have reservations of course as I am unwilling after years of self employment to be working for somebody again but all I need to do is look at the bank account. I should know by the end of the week if it is happening.

In the meantime, the daily average stays well below the target. So far, so good. I’m not wanting for much of anything and my lifestyle has stayed about the same. March will be expensive with taxes and the new iPad. But it’s all been figured in. The chart is below…

  1. wow. i like that schedule. a little like being half retired.
i cannot believe i actually felt guilty when i first retired… like i should “be working” somewhere.
i had spent over 20 years in the cubicle world. just made myself stay, almost to the detriment of my health
(hypertension big time)… but managed to come away with a pension (what an old word) to augment my widow’s benefits from my husband… now i don’t feel quilty one whit! i am just lovin’ life.
i hope it works out for you. my husband was also self employed…. brings its own stresses. but a different kind for sure!
you are creative and smart. you will always land on your feet. or…
since you’re the captain… your sea legs!
    cheers,
