Yesterday afternoon a gaggle of 8 to 10 manatees came rooting around the docks here. They were milling around uncomfortably close to my little boat here. Do ya think maybe they found out about….manatee fritters? Are they going to come back in the middle of the night and pull a Moby Dick, or a Moby Manatee, and bash my boat to shreds sending me and the cats to a watery grave?
Might be time to sharpen up the old harpoon.
These next two images are of some tarpon swimming by. They are all through the marina here. These are pretty small at 2′ to 3′ in length. The biggin’s get upwards of 5′ or better.
And finally, a line of boats along the docks. One of these is the Fritter. Can you guess which one?
It ain’t the big ones.
Them manatee could take me out in a heartbeat if they had a mind to.
