I rather like this guy.  Innovative, thrifty, debt free, and minimalist.  Gets me to thinking, always a dangerous thing.

It does have possibilities.

  1. All you have to do is register for college to get a parking permit. 🙂

  2. I heard about this. Duke is not too far from me. I think this is pretty awesome and wish I had thought of something like this when I was in college. I have also heard of students living in tents in cheap campgrounds near school or in those campers that fit on a truck bed.

  3. what an amazing young man.
education should not cost a fortune. and enslave one for the rest of their life.

  4. I am looking longer term down the road than you are, but I have to make a big decision in 2 years. Have to sell the house (long story) and as I explore all options, that van/small RV thing is really looking like a viable plan. Hmmm.

    • There are a couple dozen campgrounds in the Keys where one could bounce around in. Winter time is the tricky part when the snowbirds come down.
I may run so more posts on this subject. It’s really got me thinking in terms of an alternative to the boat right now. Cargo vans are cheap and can be fixed up without a lot of money. A poor man’s class B.
