I went down to the park to take some sunset pictures and walked down to the boat ramp.  After the sun went down I started back and happened to notice this big guy sacked out on the beach.

I’m guessing he was about 10 feet in diameter, about 7 feet tall, growled when I came near him, and spit fire balls at me…just kidding.  Sea turtles don’t growl.

  1. i’m thinking maybe ‘he’ is a SHE! and has come ashore to lay eggs?
    I didn’t know they came ashore otherwise…
but then I don’t know that much about them. still… what a wonderful thing to see!

    • Wasn’t laying eggs, I checked. Most likely it was hiding on shore because it was early evening and prime feeding time for the sharks. Turtles are high on their menu right up there with surfers, snorkels, and tasty tourists.
