The past week was not the best since I came here. I caught a nasty head cold earlier in the week, as I always seem to do every winter. It didn’t take much, just a cool breeze in the evening and next thing I’m coughing, hacking, and sniffling for 3 days. It finally passed through on Sunday and I felt more better.
I was also dealing with some very sore feet. The week before I purchased a new pair of Teva Terra Fi sandals. My Merrells have been some of the best walking/hiking shoes I’ve ever had but they are bit heavy and hot for this climate. So I did some research and the Teva’s came up with the best reviews. Trouble was, my feet were not used to them and I managed to blister them up pretty good before the sandals got properly broken in. But now they are and my feet are almost healed up. Said sandals are quite comfortable and are water proof, lava proof (according to the sales weasel), and feel pretty nice. I’m hoping I can start getting in some longer walks now.
With all the illnesses and injuries behind me, I’m ready for another week in paradise. I went down to the beach and caught a quick little sunset last night. The volcano fog which has been pretty thick lately has cleared up pretty well and said sunset turned out as nice as ever. Always worth the time to sit and watch. Have a look:
